je známe, že shirské kone patria medzi najväčšie na svete a shirom
bol aj ten najvyšší zdokumentovaný kôň. Týmto titulom sa podľa
Guinessovej knihy rekordov honosí valach Samson, ktorý bol neskôr zo
zrejmých dôvodov premenovaný na Mamuta. Narodil sa v roku 1846 v
Anglicku, ako štvorročný meral bezmála 220 cm (presne 219,7cm) a vážil
1524 kg.

súčastnosti drží rekord najvyššieho žijúceho koňa belgický
chladnokrvník, sedemročný valach Priefert's Radar. Je vysoký 202 cm a
váži 1088 kg. Jeho životná náplň spočíva v prezentácii na výstavách,
kde funguje jako účinná reklama pre svojho majitela - firmu vyrábajúcu
vybavenie pre farmy a ranče. Čo se týka jeho diéty, každý deň vraj zje
8 kg jara, 20 kg sena a vypije 75 litrov vody
***najmenší zaznamenaný kôň bol žrebec pomenovaný Little Pumkin, bol vysoký 35,5 cm a vážil iba 9 kg.
***najrychlejší kôň sa volal Big Racket. V závode ne štvrť míle v Mexico City dosiahol rýchlosť 69,21 km/h
